Support AORN Mission, "AORN supports Registered Nurses in achieving optimal outcomes for patients undergoing operative and other invasive procedures."

  Promote  the perioperative nurse's role in "Patient Safety First"  in the surgical setting and in the community.

  Serve as a liaison between perioperative nursing and schools of nursing in promoting perioperative nursing in the curriculum.

  Implement a hospitality task force to serve as hosts for the AORN Congress to be held in Denver in 2010.

  Develop a congress planning committee for 2010 AORN Congress.

  Encourage a mentoring program for newly graduated nurses/student nurses/nurses new to the OR and new members of DAORN.

  Demonstrate our chapter's excellence by participating in the Chapter Awards competition at Congress, 2008.
